The ounce size stamped into the body is the detail that won us over. Reaction Tackle puts the size right on the weight, so we can grab the right one with wet hands instead of squinting at a compartment. In a 12-pack running from 1/16 to 1/2 ounce, that small bit of legibility keeps a day of re-rigging moving, and it makes the pack easy to restock one size at a time.
The insert-free bore is the other reason this one stays in the boat bag. Tungsten is dense enough that a compact bullet still gets down in wind and current, and the smooth, polished hole threads line without the plastic sleeve some weights use. We ran these on Texas rigs and let them slide on Carolina rigs; the hard body telegraphs rock and wood better than lead, and the smaller profile slips through grass with fewer hang-ups.
The finish has held up well in our use, with no chipping that changed how the weight performed. The color is dark and natural enough for green-pumpkin water, and the stamped size stays readable after a few trips. We did not treat these as a color-match-first purchase; that is where the Fishfun pack has more to offer.
What seals it is the range. A 1/16-ounce head for clear water, a 1/4-ounce for general Texas rigging, and a 1/2-ounce for deeper edges all come in the same pack, so we are not buying three separate cards to cover one day. The 1/2-ounce size is the one we tie on when wind builds over a main-lake point; the 1/16 gets the nod in clear, shallow pockets.
Pros
- Size stamped on every weight
- Insert-free bore threads cleanly
- Compact tungsten profile slips through cover
- Covers 1/16 to 1/2 ounce
Cons
- Tungsten costs more than lead
For most bass anglers, this is the tungsten bullet we reach for first: stamped sizes, a smooth insert-free bore, and a compact 1/16- to 1/2-ounce range.
