The claws are what sold us on the Rage Craw. Strike King's Rage Flange catches water and keeps both pincers fluttering even when a football jig is barely creeping, and that slow drag is where most craw bites happen. Plenty of craws look right in the package and go dead the moment you stop winding; this one keeps working.
Four inches is the size that covers the most ground. It's big enough to fill out a flipping jig, slim enough to Texas-rig on a 4/0 hook without the nose balling up, and it fishes just as well behind a Carolina weight. Seven baits per pack means you can rig one, break one off in the rocks, and keep fishing without opening a second bag.
Green Pumpkin and Junebug between them handle most water, and those are the two colors to start with. What we keep coming back to is the range: this is the one bag of craws that does the work of a Texas rig, a Carolina rig, and a trailer, which is why it's the first bait we hand someone building a craw collection.
Pros
- Claws flutter at any retrieve speed
- Rigs Texas, Carolina, or as a trailer
- Seven baits per pack
- Effective on largemouth, smallmouth, and spots
Cons
- Claws tear free after a few fish
If you want one craw for jigs, Texas rigs, and Carolina rigs, we think this is it: the claws keep moving at any speed, and the pack gives you seven.
