Garmin Transducer Compatibility Chart: Keep UHD, UHD2, Cv, and Sv Separate

Check the full chartplotter generation and sonar suffix before matching a Garmin UHD transducer. ECHOMAP UHD, UHD2 Touch and UHD2 Keyed are different rows in Garmin’s US compatibility matrix. A connector that fits is not evidence that every sonar function is supported.

This first edition checks four specifically named ECHOMAP heads against the GT24UHD, GT54UHD and GT56UHD families. It retains the important UHD2 Keyed wireless-sharing condition and the original UHD series’ GT56 software requirement. It does not approve an arbitrary cable, mounting assembly or adapter.

Check one verified head/family combination

Use the complete head name shown in the sample. Unknown names stay unconfirmed; the tool does not fuzzy-match cv to sv or UHD to UHD2.

Download the conditions for all twelve combinations (CSV). “Listed” means the head’s family is supported in the cited UHD matrix. It does not settle every connector, installation or software detail for a purchased assembly.

Do not turn the Keyed footnote into direct compatibility

Garmin marks the UHD2 Keyed row’s SideVü UHD entries with a footnote: that path requires a wireless connection to a UHD2 Touch unit carrying a SideVü UHD transducer. It is a shared-sonar condition. This sample therefore labels Keyed 73cv plus GT54UHD or GT56UHD as conditional, rather than presenting a direct plug-in approval.

The original ECHOMAP UHD CV row is different: the US UHD matrix lists GT24UHD, but does not support GT54UHD or GT56UHD in that row. Keep 73cv and 73sv distinct even when a retailer shortens both descriptions to “7-inch ECHOMAP.”

Keep the software requirement with the model

Garmin’s US Force-transducer support article states that ECHOMAP UHD and Ultra need software 14.20 or higher for GT56UHD. The lookup retains that condition for the original UHD 73sv. It does not transfer the same minimum to UHD2 merely because its name is similar.

That minimum is a compatibility condition, not a claim that 14.20 is the newest software. Use Garmin’s update guidance for the exact head and installed system. A current version number would need separate maintenance.

Finish the purchase check at the assembly level

  • Record the full head name, including UHD/UHD2 and cv/sv, from the unit rather than the display size.
  • Identify the exact transducer assembly and intended functions: traditional sonar, ClearVü, SideVü or a different live-sonar system.
  • Use Garmin’s complete selection guide to verify the physical connection, any documented adapter or module, and installation requirements. This sample supplies no guessed adapter part numbers.
  • Keep every network or software condition with the combination. An optional shared source is not the same as a locally connected transducer.

A combination outside this small sample is unconfirmed here. That includes other Garmin ranges, other GT families, LiveScope systems and different assembly suffixes. Consult the current official guide rather than treating a missing sample row as a universal incompatibility finding.
