THKFISH Ice Fishing Jig Kit
Key details
- Glow
- Partially glow
- Hook
- Carbon steel J-hook
- Jig Count
- 26
- Weight Range
- 1/25 to 2/3 oz
The weight spread is what sold us: 1/25, 1/16, 1/12, and 1/11 ounce jigs for panfish and perch, then 1/3 and 2/3 ounce fish-shape jigs for walleye and pike. That range lets one box cover a day that starts on small perch and ends over deeper walleye. We like having the small sizes and the big fish-shape jigs in the same kit because you can change the profile without opening a second box. That sounds like a lot of sizes, but it is the difference between a box that works on one pond and a box that goes on every trip.
The jigs are built around a minnow profile with a raised-fin attachment eye, and the body coating is bright enough to show up in stained water. Part of the set glows, which is useful in a dark shack, though not every jig in the box has that finish. The carbon steel hooks are sharp out of the package, and the balanced shape drops quickly. The paint is bright and the profiles are distinct enough that you can sort by feel in a cold shack.
The 2/3-ounce jigs are big-fish tools, not an every-day perch jig, so this is a kit you grow into rather than a panfish-only box. For a first ice box or a spare set that covers several species, it earns its place as our default. When the flasher shows a heavier mark, the fish-shape jigs are the first ones we tie on. The box is simple, and that is fine; the jigs are the part that matters.
Pros
- Covers panfish through pike in one box
- Six styles and weights from 1/25 to 2/3 oz
- Part of the set glows for low light
- Sharp carbon steel hooks
Cons
- Paint can seal the eyes on small jigs
If you want one box that covers panfish through walleye, this is the ice jig kit we reach for, and the weight range is why.
